New Barbershop Coming Soon to Keswick— The Dapper Den

• We are set to open soon, tentative date for our soft opening is May 1st! We plan to be open Tuesday through Saturday from 9am-5pm. Anthony will be working the shop full time with Bonnie in part-time to start. Over the months to come we will gauge if our hours will be permanent or if any additional availability will be added. 
• Additionally, Anthony’s mobile barbering services will still be offered only on Mondays for his existing clients who cannot visit the shop.

• Yes, and no. We realize not everyone likes to be held to yet another appointment and some simply enjoy the freedom of being able to walk-in at their convenience for a haircut. However, other gentlemen cannot stand the idea of a wait (when there is one)… therefore we will be implementing a ‘hybrid appointment booking system’. 
• Meaning just at least one appointment with time priority will be available at the top of each hour. The hybrid model will allow for the availability of accommodating  appointments— and our new local, or existing loyal walk-in clientele who will be travelling up from Newmarket and surrounding areas. 

Please note that appointments will only hold the courtesy of having first priority— if they are on time! (we recommend arriving 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment.)

In fairness, the next walk-in client will immediately be sat in the barber’s chair if an appointment is late. 

• Yes, we offer discounts for ‘Senior Gentlemen’ age 60 years young and over— $28… and also for ‘Jr. Gentlemen’ age 15 and under— $25. We will not try to guess your age so if you feel a discount applies to you please let us know prior to payment. HST/GST is included in all of our pricing, please see our service menu page for more info.
• A loyalty ‘stamp‘ card will also be available for anyone who wishes to participate, please just ask for one if we do not offer! One stamp per visit.

• We only use high-quality hair products from trusted brands that we have experience with utilizing to ensure the best results for our clients. While we plan to carry some fantastic Canadian made products like ‘Rocky Mountain Barber Company’—we are not exclusive to any one specific brand. 

*If you have any sensitivities or allergies to any specific types of fragrances and products please let us know. Feel free to state that you prefer we not put anything in your hair, or that you would like to pass on the aftershave. We promise we are used to it and will not be offended by special requests!

• Generally speaking we are not like them, and they are not like us. I will use a restaurant comparison here just to say “there are many tastes and flavours”—not just one suited for everyone. Thats why there are so many great options. There are places for all tastes and styles!

At ‘The Dapper Den’, we are traditional, old fashioned, and well... plain old barbers who well, really are getting older. With over 30 years of classic experience we are simply not comfortable with providing trendy and intricate modern fades, designs, or line-ups. 

We are firmly stuck in the past and set in our ways, we do not have round lights, and we are terrible with Instagram because we don't take many pics and videos. Many of our clients are older and are uncomfortable with the whole “Do you mind if we post your picture online?”… they just want a shave or a haircut, and sometimes both.

• Unfortunately, we don’t have much experience with ladies hair. Years ago, while still in hairdressing school is where we decided to focus solely in becoming master barbers who specialize in men’s haircuts and shaving. So as such that’s where our experience has been centred for most of our careers.  Proper ladies’ hairdressing involves a lot more after the cut style work than barbering, and it’s a completely different specialty.  If we ever decide to expand and offer this service, it would be limited to simple, short, no-fuss styles that align confidently with our skillset.  
• As far as modern fades, skin fades, line ups, bursts and what all else they are called— we simply have no experience with those styles. We are more old fashion clipper to scissor blended haircut style barbers. It was by choice to stay focused on the classics.

We are happy to refer you to other shops who we are told excel in either of these particular services. 

• Yes! We are fully accessible however: door drop off always a great option if you have a chauffeur;) So I won’t lie, the parking here can sometimes be a slight challenge depending on time of day.  But there are many spots available all around the shop in each direction. We have on street parking just across the street on Church Street, adjacent to the parkette. With additional spots down the hill and over on the Queensway. When not operating there are also lots of parking spaces at the school lots and/or post office in either direction—all of which are within a quick 1-3 min walk… Shhh, I didn't tell you that!

• We apologize but we still actively working on the website content, we are finalizing everything and it will be available in later April, most likely the beginning of the third week.
